Larger Dixie Cup
Would this be a good recipe?

I have to do a demonstrative speech in my theater arts class and i want to do it on 'how to make a smoothie'. this is my recipe
Strawberry Banana Smoothie
1 sliced banana
3-4 large strawberries
2 cups of milk
1/4 cup of yogurt [optional]
1 1/2 teaspoons of sugar
5 ice cubes
Blend all ingredients except sugar. When it is all smooth add sugar then serve.

I am serving a class of 25 this recipe in dixie cups.

My question is that should I use the yogurt?? Also, I know I am going to have to double the recipe, would I need more than that? I am thinking about toping each one with whipped cream, should i? If i do, would it be gross to add chopped nuts??

First, you need to make sure everyone is OK with dairy, and strawberries. Some people are allergic. So, maybe you could make a tofu-chocolate smoothy, and a Strawberry Banana Smoothie (you will need two blenders, or better yet, two pitchers that fit on the same blender base).

Skip the whipped cream (because of dietary stuff), but garnishing it with fresh mint would be beautiful and something people could fish out easily (and much easier than whipped cream).

That said, there are certain dramatic properties in whipped cream that you might exploit. The sound is amazing, and you can craft different things.

If you want to involve your audience, you can have them draw on their cups; if you serve two kinds of smoothy, then have them draw their cups to reflect what they want (makes it easier for you to serve, and also, involves the audience on a deeper level).

Also, remember the showmanship. Slicing and dicing should be fun! The roar of the blender will be a time when you can't talk, but maybe you can do something mime-y at that time, or use it to punctuate a point.

Have you seen those cooking guys at state fairs? That's what I would want from a smoothy demonstration. Make me WANT the smoothy! Make me laugh! Entertain me for those five minutes, and educate me so I can do it at home. (A cute smoothy handout may also be helpful.)
