How do you find Find the force required to keep the vehicle from rolling down the hill?
A sport utility vehicle with a gross weight of 4850 pounds is parked on a slope of 7°. Assume that the only force to overcome is the force of gravity.

Draw a free body diagram. Then remember that mg is acting down on the vehicle, but since there is a slope, a part of that force is acting down the slope. More specifically 4850sin(7). So you need a force of 591 pounds to overcome gravity.
